But if you're a light sleeper, I would definitely recommend another place to stay. They are definitely not asleep at the wheel running this hotel. Nice, with front desk personnel like Amelia who took the initiative to call me back and offer another room. In my room switch, I had traded car noise for jet noise. Normally, Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express hotels near airports I've stayed at are well-insulated and relatively sound proof. But as I laid my head down to sleep, I could hear planes at the nearby Salt Lake City Airport not extremely loud, but you could certainly hear them taking off and landing.
This room was equally in tip- top shape as the first. But to her credit, she called back less than five minutes later and said I could move to an unused room on the first floor. The front desk clerk, Amelia, said the hotel was full and no rooms were available. After 10 minutes sitting there wondering how anyone could sleep with that constant rush of traffic, I called the front desk and ask to move to the opposite side of the building. I looked out to find Interstate 215 right next to the hotel. After I settled in to my room that evening, I noticed a significant amount of consistent car noise out the window. The staff even went the extra mile in terms of the only drawback with the property: Noise. The front desk personnel were friendly and helpful, as were those who drove the airport shuttle. Everything in order and reasonably priced. The property looks to have been recently updated. I stayed here only one night in late January.
